The study aims at building a dielectric loss measurement procedure for the Key Laboratory for High-Voltage Techniques, basing on the basic high-voltage technique theories and specifications of the testing system FT-12 manufactured by Pressco AG.
The Key laboratory for high voltage techniques has been completed after the construction period and has been put into operation with testing systems at high voltage levels, capacity levels and range of tested objectives first-time ever seen in Vietnam.
So far the laboratory has been equipped with modern testing equipments made in USA and G7-group countries, e.g. 3,600kV voltage surge testing system (Italia), 100kA current surge testing system (Germany), industrial-frequency increasing-AC- voltage testing system in laboratory (1200 kV, 50 Hz) and at site (450 kV, 45÷300 Hz) (USA); dielectric measuring system FT-12 (Switzerland).
Most of the high voltage equipment shall be tested on “C and tanδ” to check their electricity performance before being put into operation. The dielectric loss measurement testing system is a modern and complex system. Therefore, to operate and maintain the system, staff with in-depth knowledge and experience in high voltage techniques testing as well as in measurement, control, etc. are needed. The results of this study will be a starting point to develop the foundation for preparing more detailed procedures for dielectric loss measurement test in the laboratory operation.
