Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) already approved the Project Component 1 of Power development Plan of Hung Yen for period 2016-2025 with outlook to 2035 that was prepared by Institute of Energy.

Per requested by Hung Yen’s People Committee and Electricity and Renewable Energy Agency, MOIT issued the decision No 4016/QĐ-BCT dated October 23, 2017 to approve the Project Component 1 of Power development Plan of Hung Yen for period 2016-2025 with outlook to 2035.
Hung Yen is located in the center of Northern Delta, as well as Northern key economic area. Having favorable geography conditions and two highways crossing, the province owns many advantages to promote industrial and service sectors. This is one of the top leading industrial provinces in the North. At present, Hung Yen has several Centralized Industry Zones, such as Phố Nối A, Dệt may Phố Nối, Thăng Long II, etc., For that reason, power demand of Hung Yen often belongs to the top list of the country. In 2015, electricity sale per capital of Hung Yen reached 2,354 kWh, nearly 1.5 times higher than the country’s average figure.

Centralized Industrial Zones in Hung Yen as planned by 2025

According to the local Socio-economics development plan, Hung Yen sets the target of GRDP growth rate at 7.0-8.0% and 4.5-6.0% per year in period 2016-2025 and 2026-2035 respectively, of which Industrial sector still accounts for the biggest share of structure.
The Power plan shows that, in 2025 electricity sale of the province reaches over 9.0 billion kWh with that figure per capital of 7,090 kWh. In 2035 electricity sale reaches over 16.1 billion kWh with that figure per capital of 11,855 kWh.
The plan also proposes that, during 2016-2025, 5 220kV-substations with total capacity of 1,500 MVA, 32 110kV-substations with total capacity of 1,924 MVA, around 21.1 km of 220KV grid and 126.1 km of 110kV grid; and during 2026-2035, 3 220kV-substations with total capacity of 1,000 MVA, 24 110kV-substations with total capacity of 1472 MVA, around 26.5 km of 220KV grid and 78.7 km of 110kV grid would be newly constructed and improved.
The total investment cost that covers power facilities at range of 22- 220kV level for the period of 2016-2025 is estimated of 9,348 billion VND.
MOIT requests the Hung Yen People’s Committee to announce the approved plan and take responsibility for reserving land for approved power facilities and command the Local Department of Industry and Trade to develop the Project Component 2 which focuses on medium voltage network to reduce power loss and cost.
By this time, the Project Component 2 that is already completed by IE team is awaiting for approval.
