The conference on renewable and decentralized energy solutions was held in Hanoi on 23 March 2012. This event is under the framework of the Second ENEREXPO Viet Nam 2012. The Conference was co-organized by Institute of Energy (IE-Ministry of Industry and Trade-Vietnam), International Exhibition and Fair Service (IMAG-Germany) and International Technology Exhibition and Events JSC (ITEC – Vietnam).

The conference was attended by more than 200 participants from various ministries, associations, universities, research institutes, enterprises of Vietnam, local and international investors, organizations, companies
At opening the conference, Vice Minister of Ministry of Industry and Trade, Hoang Quoc Vuong, emphasized that Vietnam Government is aware of importance in development of available renewable energy resources and overcoming present policy and financial barriers so that renewable energies can have the best contribution in socio-economic-environmental development and ensuring energy security and green growth, low carbon development for the country.
In order to achieve target of renewable energy development as approved and mentioned in Vietnam National Power Development Plan for period 2011-2020, with outlook to 2030, this conference for sharing success, experience, results of studies on technologies and policies, solutions etc. is very important and useful. 12 presentations have been delivered by Vietnamese and international speakers at the conference with focus on 3 following main topics:
– Topic 1: Renewable Energy Market: Current and Future Trends.
– Topic 2: Renewable Energy Technologies – Lessons Learnt.
– Topic 3: Opportunities and challenges for Investment
