On 22 October 2012, an Expert Mission of Japan Asia-Pacific Research Institute headed by Prof. Ryuzo Yamamoto of Fuji Tokoha University, paid a working visit to Institute of Energy.
The objective of the Mission is to carry out survey, research on electricity market in Vietnam and possibility of cooperation between Vietnam and Japan on power generation and power transmission in order to facilitate favorable conditions for Japanese companies to expand their business in Vietnam.
Institute of Energy was represented by Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of International Relations Department, Mr. Tran Manh Hung, Head of Energy Economics – Demand Forecast and DSM Department and Mr. Nguyen The Thang, Head of Power System Development Department.
Both sides discussed issues related to power development situation in Vietnam, national power development plan for period 2011-2020 with vision to 2030 (PDP 7), development of power projects, electricity tariffs, renewable energy development and GHG emission reduction, etc.
On behalf of Expert Mission of Japan Asia-Pacific Research Institute, Prof. Ryuzo Yamamoto expressed thanks to Institute of Energy for receiving and working with the Mission and wished to have further assistance and cooperation of Institute of Energy so that the Mission could achieve its research objective.
