On 19 December 2011, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 6621/QD-BCT on approving the “Power Development Plan of Hung Yen Province for Period 2011-2015, with Outlook to 2020” prepared by the Institute of Energy.
According to the approved Plan, the total commercial electricity generation of the province is projected to grow at 15.4%/year for period 2011 – 2015 and 13%/year for period 2016 – 2020. The per capita commercial electricity generation is projected at 2,162 kWh in 2015 and 3,795 kWh in 2020.
During the period 2011-2015, the Pho Noi 500kV substation with capacity of 2x600MVA will be put in operation, 103km of 220kV line and 73km of 110kV line will be constructed and improved. The total newly-constructed and improved capacity of 220kV substations will be 500MVA and that of 110kV substations will be 647MVA. The total estimated investment capital for construction and improvement of Hung Yen power network is 3,521 billion VND.
