Institute of Energy was established on 1 January 1989

Institute of Energy was established on 1st January 1989 based on the integration of the Energy and Electrification Institute and Power Research Institute according to the Decision No. 1379 NL/TCCB dated 5th December 1988 by the Ministry of Energy (now it is Ministry of Industry and Trade).
The Institute operates Science and Technology activities based on the following legal documents:
– Science and Technology Registration certificate No. 224 dated 2nd February 1994 (issued first time); No. A-041 dated 3rd January 2003 (issued second time) and No. A-041 dated 24th June 2008 (issued third time) by Ministry of Science and Technology.

– Electricity operation license No. 1345/GP-BCN dated 23rd January 2003 (issued first time); No. 3348/GP-BCN dated 15th December 2004 (issued second time); No. 1679/GP-BCN dated 15th May 2007 (issued third time); No. 67/GP-DTDL dated 15th November 2012 (issued fourth time) and the current valid license No. 32/GP-BCT dated 27th March 2014 by Ministry of Industry and Trade on the following areas:
1. Consultancy on electric power development planning for the nationwide, provinces, cities.
2. Consultancy on cascade hydropower development planning for rivers.
3. Consultancy on preparation of investment, designing, bidding of thermal power plant projects at any installed capacity.
4. Consultancy on preparation of construction supervision of thermal power plant projects at any installed capacity.
5. Consultancy on preparation of investment, designing, bidding of hydro power plant projects with installed capacity up to 100MW.
6. Consultancy on preparation of construction supervision of hydro power plant projects with installed capacity up to 100MW.
7. Consultancy on preparation of investment, designing, bidding of power lines and substation projects with all voltage levels.
8. Consultancy on preparation of construction supervision of power lines and substation projects with all voltage levels.
